Fondé et basé au coeur du célèbre quartier St-Roch de Québec, le groupe WHISKY LEGS valse entre nostalgie et modernité. Avec The Basement Confessions, son premier album à paraitre le 18 septembre prochain, Whisky Legs baigne dans un univers viscéral, fusionnant le groove et la profondeur du Soul à l’ivresse et la désinvolture du blues et du rock. Mené par la sulfureuse et intense chanteuse Maude Brochu, les influences de Whisky Legs se retrouvent quelque part entre Amy Winehouse, Led Zeppelin, The Black Keys, Gary Clark Jr. et Tedeschi Trucks Band. Moins de deux ans après sa naissance, Whisky Legs a le vent dans les voiles. Lancé et produit indépendamment en 2014, leur EP Have A Shot, s’est vendu à près de 1500 copies en moins d’un an. On compte déjà à leur actif une centaine de spectacles dont le Festival d’été de Québec et le Festival de Blues de Tremblant. Less than two years after their debut, Whisky Legs is on a roll. Also known as ‘Fifty Shades of Blues,’ their sound melds powerful and evocative vocals with pulsating rock and a lashing of deep soulful grooves. Based in the heart of Quebec City, the band is inspired daily by the storied world around them. Fronted by Maude Brochu, Lys Blues nominated 'Female Artist of the Year,' Whisky Legs is Quebec Blues 2015 'Discovery of the Year’! Their independent EP, “Have A Shot”, released June 2014, sold almost 1500 copies and had them playing all over Quebec during the last year, including performances at the Festival d’Été de Québec and the Tremblant Blues Festival. Being named favorite band of the year in late 2014 by the promoter’s association of Eastern Quebec (ROSEQ) also gave them the chance, even as an unknown act, to play major venues in a tour of the Gaspé region this winter. Performing both as a duo and as a four-piece band, they have rounded out their touring in the last few months with first-time appearances in Toronto and New Brunswick.
